1. Bookings
Appointments may be booked online, by phone, email, or other approved booking methods. All bookings are subject to availability.
Vehicle inspection bookings made online are booking requests. The requested date, time and location are not confirmed until the request has been approved by Auto Check Inspections and the payment requirements below have been completed. This allows us to check travel distance, location and existing commitments before committing to a time.
We aim to respond to inspection booking requests within 24 hours. A request not approved within that time may expire, and the requested time may be released to other customers. You will be notified if this happens, and you are welcome to submit a new request.
If the requested time cannot be accommodated, we may propose an alternative date or time for you to accept or decline.
Driver training lessons booked online are confirmed at the time of booking and are not subject to this approval process.
2. Payment
For online vehicle inspection bookings, your card is authorised at the time of the request but is not charged. The payment is only taken once the booking has been approved.
If a request is declined or expires, the authorisation is released and no payment is taken. Depending on your bank, a released authorisation can take a few business days to disappear from your statement.
A booking is confirmed and locked in once it has been approved and the required payment has been received or authorised.
Driver training lessons and services booked by phone, email or in person are payable as agreed at the time of booking.
Inspection reports, certificates, or other documentation may be withheld until payment has been received in full.
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
3. Cancellation & Rescheduling
Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.
A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment may incur a cancellation fee.
No refund will be issued where:
- the customer does not attend the appointment;
- the vehicle is unavailable or inaccessible at the agreed time and location; or
- the vehicle owner does not allow the inspection to be completed in full.
Where appropriate, we may offer to reschedule rather than charge a cancellation fee.
You are responsible for providing an accurate inspection address and for ensuring the vehicle is available and accessible at the agreed time.
If Auto Check Inspections needs to cancel an appointment, you will be offered the choice of rescheduling or a refund of any payment made.
4. Arrival & Punctuality
Please be ready at the agreed time and location.
Late arrivals may reduce the available appointment time as services will generally conclude at the scheduled finish time.
5. Vehicle, Instructor & Technician Availability
Auto Check Group reserves the right to substitute an equivalent inspection vehicle, training vehicle, instructor, or technician where necessary due to maintenance, illness, operational requirements, or circumstances beyond our control.
6. Weather & Unforeseen Circumstances
Services generally continue during normal weather conditions.
Appointments may be postponed or rescheduled where severe weather, road closures, emergencies, mechanical failure, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances affect safety or service delivery.
7. Vehicle Inspection Services
Vehicle inspections are visual and non-invasive unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Components are not dismantled, removed, or disassembled.
Road tests will only be conducted where:
- the owner or seller has provided permission;
- the vehicle is legally permitted to be driven; and
- it is considered safe to do so.
Inspection reports represent the condition of the vehicle only at the time of inspection and are provided solely to assist the client in making an informed purchasing decision.
Auto Check Group cannot guarantee the future condition, reliability, or performance of any vehicle.
8. Driver Training Services
Students must:
- Hold a valid learner permit or licence appropriate for the lesson.
- Carry their permit or licence during every lesson.
- Follow all instructor directions.
- Comply with Victorian road laws.
Lessons may be modified, postponed, or terminated where behaviour is unsafe, unlawful, abusive, or where continuing the lesson would place any person at risk.
Successful completion of a VicRoads Drive Test cannot be guaranteed.
Training vehicles for licence tests are subject to availability and applicable booking fees.
9. Safety
Safety is our highest priority.
Auto Check Group reserves the right to refuse, suspend, postpone, or terminate any service where safety, legal compliance, or respectful conduct cannot be maintained.
Driving instructors may take control of the vehicle whenever necessary to ensure the safety of occupants or other road users.
10. Liability
Auto Check Group exercises reasonable care, skill, and professional judgement when providing its services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Auto Check Group is not responsible for:
- hidden or latent vehicle defects;
- intermittent faults;
- mechanical failures occurring after inspection;
- changes to vehicle condition after inspection;
- licence test outcomes;
- decisions made by VicRoads;
- losses arising from information not reasonably identifiable during a visual inspection.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Refunds
Where a booking is declined, or a request expires before it is approved, no payment is taken and nothing needs to be refunded.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.
Completed inspections and completed driving lessons are generally non-refundable unless required by law. Payment is for the inspection service itself: an inspection assesses the condition of the vehicle at the time of inspection and does not guarantee its future reliability, performance or condition.
Refund requests outside the circumstances described above will be assessed case by case. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
12. Privacy
Personal information is collected only for:
- booking appointments;
- delivering services;
- communicating with clients;
- issuing invoices and reports; and
- complying with legal obligations.
Information will not be sold or disclosed to third parties except where required by law or necessary to provide our services.
13. Intellectual Property
Inspection reports, photographs, written reports, training materials, logos, website content, branding, and other material produced by Auto Check Group remain the intellectual property of Auto Check Group unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Inspection reports are prepared solely for the client who commissioned the inspection and must not be reproduced, altered, or distributed without written permission.
